Come, let’s finish the work

PIWC, Atomic has a great history began by our father Apostle Eric Nyamekye. With the help of all that were involved, the worked on this building has progressed. But I believe that this year the work must be finished.

Moses had given instruction to the Israelites according to the direction of God. So, he announced the very first offering in Exodus 35 for the first tabernacle. God said he was going to dwell there. God told Moses to take an offering form anyone who was willing to give. Similar offerings were given in the times of David and Solomon. In the days of Ezra and Nehemiah too, they raised offerings for the work of God.

After Moses had finished speaking, the people withdrew into their tents to fetch their offerings. Some picked up garments; others, stones; others, acacia wood; because their hearts were willing. Through the pooling of all these resources, the work was finished.

Three principles that influenced the giving of the people of the Old Testament
1. Give your best to God
References: Genesis 4:2-5, Deuteronomy 8:17-18, and 1 Chronicles 29:1-5.

David understood that when it came to giving to the Lord, it was a matter of consecration. The offering was led by the leaders.

2. Understand that whatever you have, God gave it to you
The foundational practice of the Old Testament givers was that they understood that whatever they had, it was God who had given it to them. We see that example with Abraham, the father of faith in Genesis 14:18-20. Melchizedek, the king of Salem did not ask Abraham for anything. He had just came to perform his priestly duties—the blessing of Abraham—but Abraham voluntarily gave him a tithe of all that he had.

3. Give from a heart of gratitude
Exodus 35 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 show this.

Read 2 Corinthians 8:11-12 and Exodus 36:1-6.
